The Gold Dot soft point has a true bonded jacket. It’s extremely concentric, which keeps the bullet stable while its flying toward its target. In addition to superior accuracy, the soft point’s molecularly bonded jacket promotes effectively deep penetration of the threat under a wide range of circumstances. Penetrating multiple layers of thick fabric will not cause the bullet to shed a single grain of its weight. Even passage through two layers of 20 gauge hot-rolled steel will cause the bullet to shed no more than 6% of its weight. And as the SP bores into a soft medium, it easily doubles or even triples its original diameter. That produces the gaping wound cavity which can quickly neutralize even the most resolute threat.
This ammo’s flash-suppressed propellant and 150 grain SP are both optimized to ensure effective terminal ballistics from a barrel as short as 10”, as well as following impact at distances out to 200 yards. Its nickel-plated cases reduce friction to help a semi-automatic cycle more reliably, and also protect the underlying brass against corrosion.
