This cartridge is loaded with a 200 grain projectile. That’s heavy for the 300 BLK, and accordingly only permits a subsonic 1,060 fps muzzle velocity. A bullet which does not break the sound barrier produces far less noise on ignition, so you can train without rattling nearby window panes.
This cartridge’s bullet is an open tip. Such a bullet offers the same terminal performance as an FMJ, which is only to say that it cannot widen out as it pierces soft tissue. The open tip’s encapsulated base prohibits hot propellant gasses from deforming or vaporizing the lead in its core, which promotes better accuracy while simultaneously keeping rifling and suppressor baffles cleaner. The open tip’s lead core boasts virtually perfectly uniform weight distribution, and accordingly exhibits the rotational stability which great accuracy demands!
