Prvi Partizan made this 30-30 Win cartridge to satisfy the American lever-action hunter. Its 170 grain bullet rockets out of a 24 inch barrel at a velocity of 2,182 fps. With that kind of action you’re looking at 1,079 ft lbs of energy at the 164 yard mark, more than adequate to topple a whitetail with minimal pain and suffering. (These numbers only seem arbitrary because we’ve converted them from the European manufacturer’s metric figures.)
This round’s bullet sports the flat, even nose profile that tubular magazines like. The jacket features a cannelure to prevent setback, and stops short of encapsulating the nose to reveal the lead within its core. Thanks to its design the FSP bullet reliably expands outward to leave behind a cavernous wound channel, but resists fragmenting to lose its momentum as it does so. It’s an old bullet design because it works so well.
