The .223 Remington was put on the market in 1964. Its parent cartridge was the .222 Remington, and its ballistic performance puts it right between the .222 Remington and the .222 Remington Magnum. One common point of confusion with the .223 Remington is its similarity to the 5.56 NATO, but although they appear identical, they do have differences. These are lightweight 55 grain rounds. They’re FMJ and don’t expand on impact, making them ideal for target practice, tactical training, and plinking. Each round has a muzzle velocity of 3241 feet per second and muzzle energy of 1283 foot-pounds. The cases for this ammunition are made using a unique bimetal layering process where copper and steel are alternated in thin layers until the steel case is formed, and the finished product is coated with precise lacquer for moisture resistance. Berdan primer is used for reliable ignition and also to extend their shelf-life.

You get 20 target rounds in this box. This ammunition is made by Wolf, a company that is a subsidiary of the legendary Tula factory in Tula, Russia. Tula was founded in 1712 when a decree was issued for an ammunition plant to be built in order to keep the locals supplied with the means with which to defend themselves from invading nomads.
