This round’s 150 grain bullet is a soft point with a bonded core. Its copper jacket is electrochemically fused to its pressure-formed lead core, to be more specific, which gives it the impressive concentricity requisite for equally impressive in-flight rotational stability. That is the bullet nerd’s way of saying that the Fusion SP is an accurate bullet (with a 0.471 G1 ballistic coefficient).
Of course, a bonded bullet’s greatest benefit is deep penetration. Its jacket and core resist breaking apart from one another as the bullet tunnels through the quarry. That deep penetration is only made worse for said quarry by the SP’s skived nose, which assures wide-diameter and deadly terminal expansion.
You’ll be sorry to see all of this ammo’s bullets go, but don’t despair. Once its trusty primers and clean-burning powder have exploded, you’ll still have fine Minnesota-made brass cases for your reloading press.
