This cartridge is loaded with a 150 grain full metal jacket boat tail. Its tapered base kicks up less drag as the bullet pierces the air, which promotes greater velocity retention combined with stronger resistance to wind drift. The FMJBT bullet will not expand should it hit soft tissue, which makes it the wrong choice for deer hunting. (We do not deny that a good shot could use an FMJBT to knock a few of a boar’s cervical vertebrae out of alignment, however.) The FMJBT also will not attract a magnet, so take this ammo to any range without worrying about getting turned away.
Fiocchi seats their consistent bullets in equally consistent brass cases. This ammo’s noncorrosive Boxer primers make it reloadable, which is good, because no handloader has ever owned too much 30-06 brass.
