This military-grade cartridge has a 149 grain bullet, which leaves a rifle barrel at 2,790 fps to establish a flat, accurate trajectory throughout the 7.62 NATO’s effective range. Winchester’s FMJ has a pure lead core and copper alloy jacket, but it also contains steel that will attract a magnet. It also has a cannelure to keep the bullet securely seated until it is fired.
This is new production ammo that Winchester made specifically for the civilian market, not reloads or military surplus. Some people are thrown by the appearance of this M80 ammo’s brass cases. They’re not shiny, it’s true, but they’re just showing the discoloration that results from the heat-treatment which made them more elastic and durable. This ammo’s non-corrosive primers also make it clean-shooting and reloadable!
