This is Hornady BLACK: loaded with 111 grain MonoFlex SBR projectiles. The monolithic bullet is made entirely out of copper, and features an aerodynamically efficient secant ogive profile and polymer Flex Tip. It’s mighty accurate, and it achieves sufficiently deep expansion for self-defense even if it is fired out of a 6.75″-11.5″ barrel. The MonoFlex SBR’s final act is terminal expansion that more than doubles its diameter, thus enabling it to transfer superior energy and reduce (but not eliminate) the risk of over-penetration.
