50 Rounds of 77gr OTM 5.56×45 Ammo by Black Hills Ammunition

$60.95

Looking for the best 5.56×45 ammo for long-distance shooting? Then you’ve just found a real contender. When Black Hills Ammunition’s South Dakota factory isn’t hard at work loading match 5.56 for use by U.S. Army Service Rifle Teams and other uniformed pros, it’s making plenty of match 5.56 for use by us regular Joes.

This round was loaded in Rapid City, SD with a 77 grain open tip match bullet. That’s a uniformly thin copper jacket with a uniformly distributed solid lead core. The OTM’s design achieves two major objectives: maintaining balance and conserving velocity in flight. The OTM’s nose cavity isn’t functional in the sense that it does not catalyze terminal expansion. The non-expanding terminal ballistics of an OTM and an FMJ aren’t significantly different.

This ammo’s bullets are heavy as a defense against wind drift. They will demonstrate their best airborne stability in conjunction with an 1:8” barrel or faster. This ammo’s cases are absolutely brand new. You can see darker coloration in the cases around where their necks were annealed, but all that means is you can tell they were manufactured correctly.
