Hornady Match 6.5 Creedmoor ammunition is for discerning sharpshooters. This cartridge features Hornady’s revolutionary Extremely Low Drag Match projectile, which has a Heat Shield polymer tip that cannot become deformed no matter how intensely aerodynamic friction cooks it. The Heat Shield gracefully transitions to the bullet’s Advanced Manufacturing Process jacket, which has the virtually perfect concentricity requisite for peak rotational stability in addition to a sleek secant ogive profile. The ELD Match tapers off in a boat tail that is optimally shaped for drag reduction.
The ELD Match will not undergo terminal expansion, and as such isn’t equipped for hunting applications. What the 140 grain 0.646 G1/0.326 G7 ballistic coefficient projectile will do is remain supersonic until approximately 1,415 yards. Zero in at 200 yards and drop at 300 will be -7.73”. (Hornady used a 24” test barrel to record this round’s 2,710 fps muzzle velocity.)
