Federal made the Fusion bullet to fix that. This 30-30 Win round’s 150 grain bullet starts out as a uniformly dense pressure-formed lead core. It is then electrochemically bonded to its copper alloy jacket – one single molecule at a time. The Fusion’s jacket and core are effectively a single component. Nearly incapable of splitting apart, they keep the bullet heavy enough for reliably deep penetration.
As the Fusion penetrates, its soft lead nose begins to peel back, creating a much wider wound channel than .308 inches. The Fusion’s nose is also strategically weakened with little skives, so it knows how to spread out in uniform directions.
This balanced and very deadly bullet is neatly seated in a virgin brass case, with a non-corrosive primer and clean burning propellant to give it a 2,390 fps muzzle velocity. A great choice for plugging a buck up to around 200 yards, and accurate enough for brush hunting too!
