Sellier and Bellot was founded in 1825 by Louis Sellier, who was joined soon after by his fellow countryman Jean Maria Nicolaus Bellot. The company took off quickly; by 1830 they’d make more than 60 million percussion caps, and by 1837 that number had topped 156 million. It wasn’t long before they began to distribute their products more widely, and today their ammunition is sold all over the world. Their plant is located in Vlasim, Czech Republic, and they’re now a subsidiary of CBC, a company of worldwide renown for their production of ammunition.
